Eyes Wide Open
Sweet little Amer’s very first kiss
Quick, get a camera to document this!
Davey Bargetzi was awfully cute
Brown eyes and almost a birthday suit
How many girls can say their first action
Was a photo op for Mom’s satisfaction?

Completely true story. Like most of my life, staged in front of a live audience! 8^)
Posted at Open Link Monday at Imaginary Garden With Real Toads, and, if I remember, I’ll also link it to dverse on Tuesday. IF I remember, and that’s a crapshoot these days… Peace, Amy

Thanks, SHerry! And see how short it was!! Amazing for the Pencil that often runs out of lead before the poem is completed, ha ha. Amy

I love you Amy. 🙂 That’s because I love this!!! Tender love in the budding!!
You reminded me of a couple of very sweet moments. One was when I was in the first grade (we didn’t have kindergarten in our school): (the second Senryu poem) Two Special Little Girls
The second moment my daughter related from London where they live. KP, our four-year-old grand-daughter, wanted to invite two of her boy friends to her slumber party. Very quickly there was a Mom and daughter first talk about boys and girls.

Aw, thanks for looking me up! I’ve been scarce lately (depression, flu, more depression, taxes), so I’m especially glad you left a comment. I felt like this was one of those rare, gentle poems – and I was amazed at the brevity… ha ha. Coming your way now, Dawn! Amy

At least I didn’t face the other inevitability, DEATH. But I was spiritually dead for quite awhile.

Yes, the nightcap is adorable! How amazing that this was caught in a photo too. Sorry for your string of troubles, Amy and feeling unwell. Just getting back into writing again after a long break myself…need you in fighting form so I can join forces with your passionate causes, rants or whatever you’re serving for the week!

Thanks, Laura. My daughter, whose real name is Laura, was a big help, along with Lex, my cat Diva (sitting on my lap and nuzzling my face). I rise, I fall. I get back up again! Coming your way now…

That’s just wonderful. Yes, in most instances Mom’s good anticipation can be treasured for life. Not many are quick on the draw though. Great capture Amelita!
