Couldn’t leave the letter “E” without a more serious take. Amy
Elegy (ABC Weds.)
Ending was not without effort
She simply missed the effervescence that had ever been
part of her existence
Without the ever-present spark
emitted by Eros and elegant inspiration,
there was evidently no point in going on
An emptiness of energy
Please, summon empathy for
this exiting soul
who could not endure
the lack of
an eagle’s wing.

I’ve always kind of thought of E as a joyful letter (eeeeee!), but you definitely show another side of it here. I hope you can work such transformations on the utterly hostile F. 🙂
Sharp Little Pencil
Funny, for me, E is usually best expressed as eeeeeeeeeeeeeew! Gross! All things to all people, right?
As for F, I’m not going there,m at least where you think… wink. And yes, I will try for a less obvious take. Thanks so much for stopping by – I just popped onto your blog and left a comment there. Peace, Amy

Interesting. My sister Leslie sang, at both my father’s and my mother’s funerals, to/for my mother, Wind Beneath My Wings.

I have sung that as well as Skylark at many funerals, and I’ll Be Seeing You… all songs filled with a new meaning in that context.
Thanks Roger! Peace, Amy

Whoa! Love this, most especially “who could not endure the lack of an eagle’s wing”. Powerful, it really resonates with me. Well done!
Sharp Little Pencil
Thanks so much, Sherry, and I thought you would appreciate that line.

The other thing i should say is that I am happy that you posted to the group with the specific link, which allowed you to post twice, which, for the record, is absolutely fine.
