Sounds like a jolly good time was had by all. ๐

And we had just moved to Madison two weeks beforehand. What a blast! I’m cutting way back on cheese intake, though. It gives me that gummy feeling in my tummy… ! ๐
Christine
For every ounce of intake of cheese, you should equal that with fiber.
Yikes girl, that’s a lot of cheese, but it sounds delicious.
Sharp Little Pencil
Yeah, next morning I ate a bowl of super-fibrous cereal and chased it with grape juice!! Ha ha
Debbie
You could be the Green Bay Packer’s poet! ๐
Sharp Little Pencil
I’d have to stand in line behind 26,985 other poets!

Don’t really understand American football, but having watched a couple of Super Bowls in the company of American friends, your poem brought back some tasty memories ๐
Sharp Little Pencil
Hey, I don’t care if it’s rugby… as long as there’s good food, I’ll watch a scrum!
Sherry Blue Sky
So much fun!
Sharp Little Pencil
Oh yeah! Cheese, cheese hats, and football!!
RJ Clarken
Sounds like cheesy good fun! hehe And anyway, cheese (and your poem) rocks! (Just did a cheese fondue tonight, in fact!)
Sharp Little Pencil
Cheese fondue. About the only thing they didn’t serve!! Thanks, RJ ๐
Elaine
Wonderful rhythm and rhyme. Cheesy without being cheesy. Love it!
Sharp Little Pencil
“Without being cheesy,” Elaine, loved that comment! Thanks. Don’t often do anything other than free verse, but this fell together nicely! Sort of a Suessian take, I guess…
Deborah
Mmmm cheeeese and a win, a perfect day!
Thanks for your comment on mine Amy :o)
Sharp Little Pencil
Deborah, I love our exchanges and the fact that prompts link us to each other! Yeah, and I topped it off with a local beer called The Spotted Cow!
T Lyn
Sounds like good times. XD
Sharp Little Pencil
Yeah, and I don’t even like football all that much! But moving to Wisconsin just as their team (pardon me, OUR team) won the Super Bowl was delightful!
Altonian
When on earth did you have time to watch the game, with all that eating and drinking going on? Sounds terrific fun though, and a jolly good fun poem came out of it. Don’t give up too much cheese, it’s one of mankind’s better inventions.
Sharp Little Pencil
I’m a cheese addict! Comes from not being able to eat dairy for years when I was singing six nights a week.. and yeah, it was a madhouse, but a fun one!
Mary
Written like a true Wisconsinite!!!!!
Sharp Little Pencil
Only took me two weeks!

It’s all about food and football…in that order I think. I could forget the football, but if I actually live in the state that’s sending a team to the superbowl, I feel compelled to watch. The one I remember was Denver. Of course we Gunnison folk had to gather by the fire and cheer them all. Funny. I don’t remember the game at all, but I sure remember the friends around the fire.

The friends and good time always overshadow the event, which is as it should be! We had just moved to Madison, and since Lex is the new pastor, we were invited to a slew of parties, but honored the first invitation. SO much fun seeing their pride in their team; I even helped paint green and gold on people’s faces… as they entered the church service that morning! Thanks, Lilibeth. Amy
