No more cracks ‘bout “voter fraud”
Not a peep from Hair That’s Odd*
Ryan, back to same old lying
Mitt’s hair won’t need so much dyeing
Mister Prez must buckle down
Get it straight in Lobby Town
Stop the war, stop the fracking
Congress, he can start a-smacking
Beef up this new Health Care Act
ALL need coverage; that’s a fact
Give my friends the right to wed
You don’t need to see their bed
But the best must surely be
No more smack ads on TV

* Donald Trump tried to make this election about himself. “Birthers” should get over it.
You know how I voted, because I’m an unapologetic leftie. But I voted by default this time, not by mandate. Until our country reverses policy on energy – no Pipeline, no more fracking (all the water we have is all we’re getting, folks. Earth recycles it, and the more polluted it gets, the deeper trouble we’re in). Germany is awash with solar panels, something like 80 percent, and we have so many great places for that as well as turbines.
Don’t get me started about the war. I will keep pressing to bring our troops home NOW. Why not join me? Here’s a link to find out all your U.S. congressional contacts – click HERE. Don’t wait until January. There’s no reason they should sit on their asses on your dime!
Class warfare is not ended with this election, although the Right spent over six bucks for every vote, and the Left won with a little over ONE buck per vote. Since the election, racists are ramping up their rhetoric, and gays don’t have equal rights yet. Hell, WOMEN don’t have equal rights yet!
Next time, let’s see what a woman can do. As long as it’s the right person, I’m game. Peace, Amy

I’ve been joicing, and joicing again all week, despite secession talk. Secession? Really?
Rajesh
Very nice.

ugh, i guess you saw as well the push to secession as well, it was ablaze yesterday and to what end…just continued division…and that is what will ruin us yet….thanks goodness the ads are gone, you know…
Laloofah
Right on!! (And thanks for the *snork* over “Hair That’s Odd!”) 🙂

Great post. I love verses. I’m so far left that the President is far to moderate for me but I was still thrilled that he won the election.

The best couplet was the last. Thank Goodness!

Quebec is always wanting to secede, but they’re still part of Canada. I say let ’em go but just keep a highway open to get to the maritimes. Who’s talking secession in the USA?

To start off -I can’t vote because I’m not an American citizen, but I lived and worked here for over 20 years, so I think I know what the issues are:) I think left or right -both sides want the troops to come home! Don’t talk about women’s or gays’ rights, walk the walk! You have the respect of most men/women when you’ve earned it. When I don’t get it, I let them know that I’m a doctor and men are my friends – easy as pie.

Wonderful poem! And I agree with you. Sadly, most of my votes tend to be votes by default.

Amy! Thank you so much, I am laughing so hard 🙂 You are brilliant and I love your unapologetic self. And yes, thank goodness that the ads have finally ceased!

Everyone can heave a sigh of relief. No change, the status quo remains. That’s an outsider’s reaction. Not that we’re not interested. It’s just that we are not privy to the issues bandied about. But we are happy it was a smooth journey across for the President! And leave it to Amy who is so much into specific issues. Great write Amy!
