Kim Nelson, at Poets United’s Verse First, asked us to edit, edit, edit and create a poem about something ordinary… in a handful of words. Unaccustomed as I am to brevity… !
This also appears in the left margin of my home pad, Imaginary Garden With Real Toads. Peace, Amy

Good one, Amy!

Thanks, Sherry. C’mon over!

Very nice, Amy. I like the rhyme of the fifth and sixth lines; keeps the momentum flowing until the end.
Sharp Little Pencil
Paul, those lines rhymed by accident – it wasn’t until typing the poem up that I realized they synapsed their way into the poem! Thanks, A

There is no time during my day in which coffee is not welcome. Have had to switch to decaf after noon, but my decaf is STRRRRONG, like you can stand a spoon up in it! Always nice to see you, Brian! Amy

A cuppa to tone things up. Some prefer late at night to help keep awake and alert at the computer. Nicely Amelita!

Hank, my mother used to drink a cup of strong black coffee before bed. I could never do that now, but I applaud your dedication to the bean!! Amelita

I am so happy to read this poem as it made me feel that I have to go brew some coffee too. Right now in fact. 🙂 Coffee is indeed a curative brew that quickens the mind and sharpens the senses. Thanks for writing this!

Ah, another sister in that most heavenly addiction. Hey, I had to give up a lot of other “vices” over the years… don’t mess with my coffee, ha ha. Thanks for stopping by, Anne! Coming your way now. A

Excellent!

I’m socially deprived in that I never learned to drink coffee. Or beer.

I’m running to catch up on my reading and commenting–excellent brief poem–makes me want to go sip a cup of coffee, I love the stuff, but it doesn’t always love me….:-)
