Wisconsin Winter Weather
Weather winces
Wisconsinites, whether
winkled or wrinkled
Why would we winter
where winds’re
wild, wooly?
Woven, wistful warmth within

Hi Amy, I would say this is the worst weather we have had in a number of years. If it isn’t extremely cold it is snowing. If it isn’t snowing, it is extremely cold. I am really tired of Wisconsin winter ALREADY this year. Sigh.
Sharp Little Pencil
Like they say: Nine months of winter and three months of bad sledding.

Wow. Wonderful. Have fun and stay warm, girl!
Sharp Little Pencil
Well, Lex is a big help!! Love you, Ameleh
El Guapo
Ha! At least Wisconson cold hasn’t numbed your playfulness!
Sharp Little Pencil
Never! Never, I say!!

Wow, winter with Wisconsin weather wrought with whites with waving, wonderful Amelita! Must be a few feet high with you and Lex barely seen behind the wall of snow! With no snow in our part of the world that must be fun! Great alliteration and pic! Good one Amy!

Hank, I was determined to get an all-W one in there for ABC. Thanks, hon! Amy

I’m from upstate NY, cow country, as well as Buffalo. I feel your pain, sister! Amy

I love it!!! its a kind of tongue twister for me and the accompanying pic is great!!

Thanks for the Christmas card. If your snow gets any deeper you’ll have to climb on Lex’s shoulders…..
Sharp Little Pencil
I’m sure he would LOVE that. He’s only about five inches taller than I am!!
Kerry O'Connor
This is delightful – I love your cartoon!
You really worked the letter W too.
Hope all is well with you and yours.
Sharp Little Pencil
Kerry, so glad you liked my little comic. I’m getting bolder about adding them, so the feedback is welcome. Yeah, the W got the old can of Whoopass opened on it! Peace on earth, Amy
Akila
Quite a wwinter there! stay warm
J Cosmo Newbery
Brrr! I can feel the cold. (Thursday’s predicted to be 40 here. That C, not F.)
Sharp Little Pencil
What is 40C in Fahrenheit? Never can get that straight. Only thing I know is, if you’re doing 60 mph in the car, it’s about 100 in Ks.
Roger Green
R-r-r-right n-n-now, its z-zero d-d-degrees F-f-f-fahrenheit in in Alb-b-bany, NY. But you made it a little warmer.
Sharp Little Pencil
Aw, thanks, Rogggggger. Right now, my office is f-f-f-freeeeezing! If it weren’t for the cat on my lap, I’d be dead.
Sumana Roy
enjoyable poem and cartoon…. 🙂

LOVE the artwork! It made me smile this morning. Michigan weather is not very different, I’m afraid.
Sharp Little Pencil
Amen to that, sister!

Love this. I can totally relate, out here on the lone prair-ee.
I enlarged the drawing, and I wuv it. Wuv your cat and bunny, too. I don’t know where the local rabbits are burrowed, but Lindy would rather be in the house than outside in the wild winter winds.
Wonderful work, Amy, wonderful.

Wonderful post!! stay warm 🙂

Tempting to wing your way but this is too much fun as it is, and provides a better explanation than simply being stuck somewhere why anyone would want to winter in Wisconsin (colder without, warmer within). I live near Orlando and work with an outfit based in MIlwaukee; the layout editor seems to revel in tales of cold and misery. The teeth chatter but they still smile. Yo to Diva in the window. – b

I survived 3 winters in Ottawa and will NEVER go back! And now I have two students who are considering going to university in Edmonton, Alberta! I told them both that they’re crazy!
