If She Were
If she were a cuticle
she’d be bleeding
If she were road kill, she’d be
half in a crow’s belly
This country
These headlines
The prospects, so bleak
She’s dog tired
Bone weary
Dog bone busted

ABC Wednesday is on the letter “I” and seems to be pointing toward writing one’s own life. Strange to write these thoughts in the third person; yet, to claim all this as mine feels like defeat.
I am hopeful, but this reality is taking its toll…
Peace, Amy

Awww, Renee, thanks so much for this. I need to get back into writing as well, so let’s hope we see more of one another in the coming months.

Melody, I know you are bilingual, and fantastically so! This is a little piece of me, but not to worry. I have depression and write about it often!

Thats what i thought already but did not dare to mention because i did not want to offend you…. struggling with it myself for over 30 years now, i know how that is…
{Bug hug} Keep your head up girl, although it does not always seem like it, life is worth living!

The prospects, so bleak…….. why wouldn’t one be depressed?

…and yet somehow, I am not making plans to move to Canada, as are many folks I know.

from afar we gasp in…astonishment! But you know Amy I think this is a good time, even a hopeful time. I can’t think of another election where the right has been so honest and out there. The question is being asked, in America, in England, here in Australia. Will we as a global species chose to be global humanitarians or will we chose to withdraw into tribalisim and us against them? And seeing the rise of Bernie and a socialist leader of the labor party in England gives me hope. Of all times this is not a time for us lefties to collapse in fear and exhaustion my friend (despite the overwhelming desire to do so at times). It is time for us to speak of our dreams and hopes, of togetherness and kindness and helping as loudly as those who speak the opposite. We walk through Dante’s inferno. Together we can find the strength! xx

Leeis, you give me hope with your words. I have vowed to stay here and fight the good fight no matter what! Yes, it is exhausting for us lefties, agreed… and as a Christian leftie, I find my values being underminded by the dominance of “The Big Christian Right,” which feels it is the only way, or Way…
I am in awe of the new PM of Canada as well! Hoping enough people get it together to find a voting booth and VOTE their conscience and not their fears. We’ll see if the US is as elevated as “we think we are,” lol. Thanks!

Hey Amy…that was my intention :). And yes Canada’s PM is a breath of fresh air. You know I wish Americans would change the term The Big Christian Right” to Christian Fundamentalists. I don’t know what its like there hun but here in Australia when we hear your tea party and such carry on we know thats not Christianity just as we know blowing up folks in Allah’s name is not Islam. It is Fundamentalism.
And yes there is much reason for hope. I love your last line! Elevated doesn’t go well with Trump and Cruz hey :). Sorry…we do get quite a lot of giggles out of the show thats on over your way :). But we are also desperately hoping that the American peoples are not taking their fear-mongering rants seriously.
Oh and sorry to rave but on the mental health side of things…we can be led to despair by the media overload of these folks and all the crap going on world wide. Don’t forget to create the space that allows you to drink in the beauty of life. It balances the frustrations.
