The Lune is an American variation on haiku. The form is: Five syllables, three, five. I don’t often delve into forms, so here are a few for your enjoyment. Hope none of you got trampled in the “Black Friday” creation of every big box store known to humankind. Don’t fall for the hype – give to a charity in your family’s name. I guarantee you a merrier Christmas with simply stuffing the stockings! Amy

I like this form, for a variation of the 5-7-5 haiku, which I seldom quite obey… but then I’m never much into forms either. I like your first one here especially – the calming influence of divine wisdom.

Thanks! I’m not a form person by nature but do have that musical thing going, so sometimes I sing=song my way into a form!
Yes, I liked the spiritual first one best as well… Amy

Beautiful, serene and wise. I love them!!

Thanks, Sherry. Like I told “Turtle,” I’m not drawn to forms often, but Robt. Lee Brewer challenges us to take them on at Poetic Asides from time to time! Peace, Amy

You did a great job on these! I had forgotten what the Kelly Lune was . . .now I know! Thanks for inspiring, Amy!

Yes, there are Kelly and Collum. Kelly is 3-5-3 on syllables; Collum is 5-3-5 on words. Or is it the other way around?! Confusing but very accessible form!
Thanks, Debbie! Amy

I’m not much for forms myself, but I did like these, especially Embrace. It’s a poem that speaks to the more loving and romantic part of me.

That was my favorite too, and as you know, I’m not big on forms at all. But it was a challenge, and I try to rise to the occasion! A
