Although it came to me too late for Writer’s Island, this poem found its way to me last night (and early this morning), as our cat, Gable, nestled at the foot of my bed. The prompt was “Beguile.” Better late than never! Amy
CATS (haiku)
Felines beguile us
With their soft, sweet, subtle ways
Purring, pawing, lap-nesting

A beautiful haiku.
I love the name Gable (as in Clark?) and lap-nesting is just wonderful! :o)

My daughter named him Gable after Clark Gable – when she was only nine! She knows all the great old movie stars; we used to watch the old flicks a lot.
Thanks for this, Deborah! Amy

Delightful Amy
Recalling how soft furred-feet
come in with the fog

Ah, Pearl Girl, you old Sandburg fan, you! Love, Amy

This generates some interest to try and have one at my home.. never had any pets..but then you have captured it so well..

Ramesh, if you want a pet which is not obnoxious, requires very little upkeep, and gives maximum delight, I say cats fill the bill every time! Thank you for the compliment!
Peace, Amy

As a cat owner, I totally agree with this! 🙂

Ha, I knew you would! Gable agrees, too!
