Took a couple of days off to process the events of the past week. Hope you are all well, and please, don’t anyone comment on Osama bin Laden on my blog, OK? If I write a poem about his life or whatever, then you can, but I’m meditating on peace at this time. Thanks for understanding! Amy
Road Asides
Roads, those easier I could have taken,
long past regretting.
Lessons learned on bumpy avenues,
long time forgetting.
And yet there is a wistful twist
in every boulevard – if you look hard
you’ll find it and, if you dare,
something good might find you there.

And with you as well. Thanks, Debbie! Blessings, A.

Good advice, Amy. I’m glad the words are still coming for you.

It was a battle for a few days, but I’m back on my game now, thanks, Viv. Amy

The roughest roads often lead to the most beautiful places…

Thanks, Nimue. I wrote this right before sleep last night… peace, Amy

Ah, yes, Amy. We all could have taken easier roads; but then we wouldn’t have gotten to the (good) place we are today!

Amen, sister. Amy

May you find the peace that passes all understanding.

I have found it. But then it gets off its leash and I have to chase it down… depends on my mental health care, truly! Thank you, sincerely, Michael. Amy
The Lonely Recluse
Amazing poem. I loved the rhythm of it. Love all the words but I adored the second stanza.
The Lonely Recluse.

Thank you so much. Of course a lot owed to Frost and Peck in consideration, but my road is my own. Glad you came by! Amy

A lot of wisdom in this short little piece! Love the way you played with the rhyme here. 🙂

Thanks, Joanna. I really don’t do much in the way of rhyme, so this comment means a lot! A

I feel the same way.
If I had taken a different path, I would might still be at school, but I wouldn’t have found such wonderful people here at home, wouldn’t have confronted my issues- and sorted a bunch out, wouldn’t have come out (or even realized I needed to), wouldn’t be writing a novel or have the courage to post my poetry… I definitely prefer my life now.
I think a good way to look at life is: if you regret something in your life, you haven’t learned the lesson from it yet.
I hope you find the peace and clarity of mind you’re looking for.
Love from little Bee!

Every day, getting stronger. Learning to see potentially dangerous situations on the rise before I let them consume me, which is HUGE.
Your philosophy is very much like mine! I learn from mistakes and only hope the worst ones are behind me. But I retain an open mind, LOL. Thanks, lovely little Bee! Amy

Life is full of rocky roads, but there is always a path that will suit us…and be right for us, if we DARE to take it. Lovely poem! xx

It’s all in the dare, in the “take a chance,” in the gut feeling that it’s the correct route. Thanks, A

I know that if I would’ve taken a different path and decided to go to college in Arizona many years ago, I would’ve never met my wife Miriam. I’m so glad I stayed home to go to school in La Crosse. Good stuff as always, my friend. Brett
