Springing to Life Again
‘Tis the season of Winter’s evaporation
as Spring supersedes chill,
tugs at our trowels,
breathes into us tiny moments of joy.
Water, as mist, rising in the fields
as fodder for mudslides in the canyons,
as morning nymph, awakening seaweed
beneath the shoreline.
Water, released from stasis;
then, in Nature’s tightly embroidered womb
disappearing in the evaporation
that will bring the earth full cycle; back to balance.
World awakening. Welcome!

A lovely concept for the wordle words.

Thanks so much, Viv. I don’t often Wordle, but Brenda’s words got me going! Amy

The fact that water is the essence of life on earth is beautifully translated here. The various images and incarnations of water are vivid and evocative.

Water is the most precious resource we have… thanks for noticing that thread! You really READ these poems, you know what I mean? I always find something insightful in your comments, Kim, most appreciated. Amy

Thank you, Nimue. I know you’re an Earther, not a Birther, LOL. Seriously, it took those Wordle cues to bring some of those words into my realm of writing!

I love the line about Spring breathing into us tiny moments of joy…I miss that about Spring in the Midwest. Down here in South Texas, there isn’t much Spring to speak of…we just wake up one day to HEAT.
Here’s mine attempt at the wordle: Message in a Bottle…Once Full ~ which is actually a redux of my NaPoWriMo response to the “message in a bottle” prompt. Let me know what ya think! 🙂

Paula, ironically, it was the same here this spring. Yesterday was so dark, I thought we were experiencing a solar eclipse – then the skies opened up, a small tornado, and 45 degrees. Today, sunny and 85. I am NOT complaining!! I’ll come over and see your Wordle, for sure! Isn’t Brenda clever?
Sherry Blue Sky
Yay, Spring!
Sharp Little Pencil
85 degrees today! YOWZA!
christine
Love this, the first line was just the hook, that put a smile on my face.
Sharp Little Pencil
So glad you enjoyed it, Christine. Coming over to see you now! Amy
Debbie
Wow! Loved this and am amazed at your writing skills using wordle words.
Sharp Little Pencil
Brenda made it so easy, Debbie, truly. The words were a delight. You should check out A Whirl of Wordles Sunday and give it a try! Amy

A sense of lilting music! Beautiful!

Thanks so much, Gemma! Glad it held a tune for you…

‘tiny moments of joy’ – a perfect description of life!
Sharp Little Pencil
Some days, tinier than others, LOL
Blossom Dreams
Loved this poem – especially your words “breathes into us tiny moments of joy” and “in Nature’s tightly embroidered womb”. Awesome!! xx
Sharp Little Pencil
Thanks, hon. The “wordle” can be found via Brenda’s blog, Beyond the Bozone – scroll down the page and try it! It’s fun. Amy
Judy Roney
This is an incredible poem and the fact that it is a wordle is just amazing. I love this!

The Wordle was the key, so thank Brenda Warren! Thanks very much, Judy! Amy

Amy, This is quite good! I especially like “breathed into us tiny moment of joy.” Well, that and spring’s arrival. It’s here!

Yesterday, it was 45 degrees. Today, 85, and what joy to go outside and work up a sweat just walking! Thanks again for the Wordle, Brenda. A
Mary
Excellent use of the words, Amy. I like ‘spring supersedes chill.’ Finally, right? The ending is great. It takes me right out into my day, welcomed by the world.
Thank you for your comment on my serious poem last night. Your words, and everyone’s, really do help. The poetry community is wonderful.
Here is what I did with the wordle words:

Thanks, Mary. You and I both know I would never think of a word like “supercedes” if it had not been for that Wordle, so it’s becoming a good discipline – and Brenda Warren has become both a friend and an inspiration – like you!
I, too, have found strength in our community online. Certain sites, especially Poets United, bring forth wonderful people! Now to see what you did with the Wordle…
Agnija Bharathi
Really liked this very visual poem. Especially enjoyed these lines: “Water, released from stasis;
then, in Nature’s tightly embroidered womb
disappearing in the evaporation”.
Sharp Little Pencil
Thank you, Agnija. I normally don’t ‘wax so poetic,’ as much of my work is quite tied to the concrete world, but the words from Brenda’s Wordle really helped me spread my wings!
Andy
I like what you did with this.
Well done!

Thanks so much for coming by and commenting, Andy!

Just went over to your blog. I will give you some more stuff to chew on that’s in your style!! Thanks, Amy
Mr. Walker
Amy, love this from the beginning with “Winter’s evaporation” and then how you carry through with water and the seasons, both cycles. Lovely.
And I want to second your comments about people like Mary and Brenda who make this such a great online community. And, you too, of course. I’m happy to be a part of Poets United now as well. Thanks for making me feel welcome and acknowledging the contributions of others. I want to say all the same things about you.

Poets United is a very special group, and you belong there, Richard, without a doubt. We are all supportive of each other, and the breadth of work is astounding. Many styles, many voices… I love it.
Thanks for the comment on the water theme. I’m on a jag about the environment, as always in spring when things begin to stir. There was a lark outside my window this morning, and a chipmunk climbing the tree outside our apartment. Ah, spring!

Excellent Bravo. Sorry I’m late to the party, but not sorry I was able to read your writing. One of the best I’v read all day.

It’s never too late. I’m living proof!! Amy
