Corner Shelf Onstage
Young: First round on me
Stay ‘til last call
Partied hard,
some success
Now: Wiser,
ready for rowdiness, revolution
Dichotomy:
Shy, depressed or
Manic, obsessed with
peace, poetry, politics,
my past
And always singing…

For the whimsically titled Imaginary Garden with Real Toads, the challenge was to write a poem about yourself in 35 words or less. Peace, and please do come to the Garden – you’ll meet interesting poets and photographers and other artists!

Your style suits the short, punchy piece. I like how you have pared your world down to the most basic elements. Thank you for participating on Real Toads.

Aaaw. And ever and forever “our” Amy.

Past or present (whatever situation): Amy is to know by the three p’s. And by her hope. Nice. I am not particularly fond of the form of the poem but I love the message!

Sorry; *four* p’s. (。◕‿◕。)

Excuse me, couldn’t help coming up with a poem while feeling my way around yours. I like your poem. I don’t mean anything but the love of poetry by my poem. It’s just that the white space was here.
Keep Singing
It was once this way
now that way and I must go
no matter who said
the matter is still
on the table as if green
like ripe broccoli.
You’re right. Keep singing.
Sing as if your life matters,
as if your heart broke.
Renee Espriu
Always singing! Can’t get any better than that! Cheers!
